Planting and Care Guide for Water Plants

 Water Lilies

Water lilies may be the most popular type of pond plant and are common in garden ponds, fish ponds and water gardens.  We carry over 80 types of water lilies in both hardy and tropical varieties.

Our hardy water lilies are available in the following colors: Red, Pink, Peach, White, Yellow and Changeable.

Our tropical water lilies are available in the following colors: Red, Pink, White, Blue, Purple, Multi Color and Night Blooming

Water lilies, in addition to adding vibrant color, also play an important role in the pond ecosystem. Their ability to absorb nutrients from the water and to shade the pond with its expansive lily pads help to reduce algae growth and keep the water better filtered.

Tropical lilies are different from hardy lilies in that they tend to take up more space in the pond as the pads can be larger.  Tropicals also tend to be a bit more fragrant and are available in blue and purple varieties.  Tropical lilies also require warmer temperatures to bloom well, so they are better suited to the southern regions of the US.  Certain varieties of tropical lilies also bloom a night, which are not found with the hardy lilies.

Our water lilies are shipped bare root direct from the farm for the freshest and healthiest plant you can get. All plant orders are shipped via Fed Ex ground and are shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays to ensure safe delivery.
