Proper pond aeration is a critical component of maintaining a healthy and clean pond or lake. The oxygenation and water circulation benefits of a pond aerator allow for faster decomposition of waste, reduction of algae growth, necessary oxygen and gas transfer, cleaner water and stimulation of beneficial pond bacteria.
We offer both floating pond aerators (surface pond aerators)and bottom-based diffuser aerators. Each type of aerator has its place and is most effective under different conditions. Typically, floating pond aerators are best suited for shallower ponds say 8ft or less. While diffuser aerators are most effective in deeper ponds and lakes where water is stratified and a thermocline exists.
Our floating pond aerators come in two models, the Boilermaker and the DA-20 Display Aerator, each of which is available in 3 different sizes to accommodate a variety of pond aeration needs. These units pump water from just below the surface up to the surface creating efficient oxygen transfer as well as venting gases.
All of the surface pond aerators are made in the USA of oil-free stainless steel components, guaranteed to be the most environmentally friendly water features on the market, with each pond aerator carrying a 5-year motor warranty...the best in the business. 1/2 HP size fountains come with a standard 70 ft cord. All 1.5 HP size fountains come with a standard 100 ft cord.
Our diffused pond aeration systems are available in electrical or wind powered models. The electrical systems are good for ponds that require constant 24/7 aeration due to heavy fish population and/ or significant nutrient load and that have electricity nearby the pond. The windmill pond aerators are ideal for ponds with no electrical access. These windmill pond aerators are high efficiency and need as little as 3-5 mph wind speed to generate oxygen for the pond. All of these units utilize compressors to push oxygen to the bottom of the pond that is released through diffusers (air stones)causing the water to bubble up and float to the surface. This action enables the low-oxygen bottom water to mix with the oxygenated water higher in the water column thus de-stratifying the pond. Bottom-based diffuser aerators are the most efficient systems for ponds deeper than 8ft an also do not require electricityIN the water. Be aware that diffuser systems can be used in shallower ponds, however due to reduced efficiency, more diffusers and air pumps may be needed to sufficiently aerate the entire pond which canquickly raise the cost.
