No. The microbes in Pond Keeper only stay alive as long
as there is a food source for them to feed on. Once the excess
nutrients and organic matter have decomposed, the microbes will
disappear.
18. How is
Pond Keeper applied?
Pond Keeper Pond Keeper is a liquid product and is applied
directly to the pond in amounts based on surface acre. More product
is needed initially to establish a strong microbial population,
with smaller monthly maintenance dosages recommended. The product
can either be poured directly into the water or sprayed out over
the pond.
19. Can I
swim in a pond that has been treated with Pond Keeper?
Yes, you can absolutely swim in a pond that has been treated.
Just as it is harmless to fish, animals and turf plants, it is
also harmless to people.
20. When should
I apply the product?
The ideal time to start applying Pond Keeper is in the
early spring before pond problems arise. As the temperatures warm
and more organic materials become present in ponds, the likelihood
of pond problems increase. However, the product can be applied
at anytime during the year as a treatment for troubled ponds.
21. Is Pond
Keeper a herbicide?
No, Pond Keeper is not an herbicide or algacide and contains no
chemicals. The product does not attack and kill the growing algae,
rather it removes the nutrients from the water that algae uses
to bloom and grow, making it an all natural process.
22. Do you
offer any long term maintenance programs?
Yes, we can put together programs for season long maintenance.
As a matter of fact, these programs offer products at a discounted

source helps to get the bacteria into an aggressive feeding mode
to speed up the bioremediation process. In some cases the soil
is rich enough that not much of a catalyst is needed.
35. Do you
offer a nutrient source or catalyst?
Yes, in most cases we can provide a nutrient base if needed.
Spill
Treat
36. How does
Spill Treat work?
Spill Treat uses surfactants and bacteria to naturally remove
oil and grease from hard surfaces. This formulation utilizes a
proprietary blend of 4 surfactants. Two of these are macro-surfactants
(which focus on emulsifying hydrocarbons and prohibiting them
from being re-deposited to the ground surface). Also included
is a high-end penetrant surfactant, which ensures that the formulation
will penetrate into the cracks and crevices of the ground's surface.
Finally, a wetting surfactant is added, which adjusts surface
tension and allows increased movement of the formulation across
the ground's surface. In addition to the surfactants, this formulation
also contains 400 billion microbes per gallon.
37. Will Spill
Treat harm wastewater lines or the soil?
Not at all. Spill Treat can actually benefit wastewater streams
by increasing the breakdown of wastes in the stream and by further
breaking down contaminants in the soil.
38. Can Spill
Treat removed oil stains from a driveway?
Yes. Just mix according to directions and spray liberally over
the stain. Allow to sit for at least 5-10 minutes (maybe even
longer). If it is an old stain, agitation/ scrubbing with a course
brush or broom will help. Rinse thoroughly with a strong stream
of water.
39. Will Spill
Treat clean up gasoline and diesel spills?
It sure will. As matter, the surfactants help to inert volatility
and reduce flammability of the liquids. Makes it a great product
for emergency response.
40. Will Spill Treat leave behind toxic residue?
No. The only by-products of Spill Treat are carbon dioxide and
water.
