Environmental Science Resource Center
Environmental science is the study interaction between humans and the environment. Environmental science incorporates physical and biological sciences. It focuses on identifying and analyzing environmental problems and finding solutions. This field uses an incorporated, measurable and interdisciplinary method to studying environmental systems. Scientists in this field concentrate in areas such as the earth processes, energy systems, global climate and pollution and natural resource management.
Atmospheric Sciences
Atmospheric science is the study of the atmosphere. Atmospheric sciences includes the study of the atmospheres process and the affect other systems may have on the atmosphere. It also includes the economic impact of weather and climate.
Ecology
Ecology is the study of how living things interact with each other. It also includes how living thing interact with the environment around them. Ecology is related to physiology, evolution, genetics and behavior.
Environmental Chemistry
Environmental chemistry encompasses many subjects. It uses chemistry to recognize interactions of environmental systems. According to the Clemson College of Engineering and Science, it is the study of the sources, reactions, effects of chemical species in water, soil and air environments.
Geosciences
Geoscience is also known as Earth science. It is the study of the composition, structure and physical features of the Earth. Scientists in this field combine physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics.
